Scrapping the Little Things

Today is Scrapping the Little Things day over on the MCT blog. I did a quick mini page for this picture of my sweet little L swinging on the "big" swing for the first time. He's getting to be such a big boy! 

I broke out my Just Simply Live Stamp Set, I love the font in this set and there are some great sentiments too. I do have a few more photos from that day, so I will probably do another spread with more journaling.

Re-do Thursday

Happy Thursday!!!

Today is re-do Thursday on the My Creative Time blog. I made this card for the Thoughtful Thursday a couple weeks ago. Once the card was finished, I got another idea for it. I was thinking it would be really pretty if I used the "smooshing" watercolor technique on the top layer.

So... that is what I did. I really love how it turned out! I also sprayed over the watercolor with some silver shimmer. It's so beautiful! I decided to switch it up and use a different butterfly and sentiment too.

What a treat...

Happy Wednesday!!!
Today is What a Treat Wednesday on the MCT blog. I made a fun 1st day of school treat for Z. 

I added 9 Swedish Fish to a bamboo skewer and then covered them with a treat bag. I sealed it shut with some twine and a tag that I made with the  Stitched Round Tab, Arrow & Tag Die. The stamped sentiment was pieced together from stamps from the Write On Stamp Set, and the fishy is from the Surf's Up Stamp Set.

Happy Tuesday!!!!

Today is stamp of the month "redux" on the My Creative Time blog. This month's stamp of the month is the Springtime In Paris Stamp Set. I used this tag as my "redux" inspiration.

I stamped the yellow/heart back ground paper with the flourish swirl stamp from the set and heat embossed it with clear matte embossing powder. This helps change up the paper and add a bit more interest. The Eiffel Tower is embossed with silver pearl embossing powder, it has a pretty shimmery look to it . The flowers and leaves are stamped with  patterns from Build a Banner Kit and the Pretty Spring Wreaths Stamp Set with coordinating ink, this helps add some texture. Lastly, I added the 4mm clear sequins for a little sparkle.

My Creative Time August Release - Sneak Day 4

Today is day 4 of sneaks for the My Creative Time August release. The set we are sneaking today is called Prehistoric Holidays, it is a stamp and coordinating die set. 

My project for today is a shaker card made with a bamboo embroidery hoop. I've had this hoop sitting on my table for the last year wanting to make a shaker with it. When I saw this dinosaur set, I knew I had to make it for Z. I love how it turned out, but next time I am going to put the metal tightening piece on the side so it will stand up by itself! I had a major DOH! moment when I was taking photo's. Oh well, craft and learn... right? I used my Zig watercolor markers to do the background piece and my Prisma colored pencils for the rest.

My Creative Time August Release - Sneak Day 2

Today is day 2 of sneaks for the My Creative Time August release. The set we are sneaking today is called Too Cute to Spook. It is a stamp and matching die set. It's so fun and perfect for Halloween.

My first card was made with the new Stitched Square dies, last months My Thoughts Are With You Stamp Set, and today's sneak set. I stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Spooky Starry Night Stamp Set.

My second card was made with the smaller of the Stitched Square dies. I thought I would play with staking them. I love how this sweet little card turned out. The spider and tiny sentiment are from the set being sneaked today. Can you tell I love these little spiders?

My Creative Time August Release - Sneak Day 1

Happy Monday!!!

Today is day 1 of sneaks for the My Creative Time August release. The sets we are sneaking today are called the Stitched Square Dies and the freebie set called Fangtasic Day. The Stitched Square Dies is a set of 9 nesting dies with stitching on the inside and out. The freebie set has two stamps and a matching die.

I made my first card with 3 of the new Stitched Square dies and a coupe of the older Halloween sets. I created the orange background with two different sized bat stamps. The which was stamped on the inside of the card and I colored in the moon, then I added some Wink of Stella to make it sparkle. 

My second card is a shaker that I made with two of the new stitched square dies and the You Make My Heart Smile Stamp Set. I used StazOn ink to stamp the sentiment on the clear acetate. I really love how easy this card was to make with the square dies! I'm so happy to have them!

Shine Brightly

Today is Trending Now over on the MCT blog. The trend we are looking at is embossing. I made a tag for a friends daughter, who is starting college next week. I thought she could use it as a bookmark/place holder in one of her school books.

I decided to emboss the front of my tag with one of the stitched star dies, I love the look of this technique and need to use it more. I used the 4th largest star.

Here is a video showing how to emboss with metal dies.

I sprayed it with some homemade glimmer mist. I used water and silver perfect pearls in a small spray bottle. I love the shimmery effect it creates.

Today is Inspire Me day on the MCT blog. My card for today is inspired by this card by Kristina Werner. Last week Z and I were watching YouTube videos and he saw her "Smiley" card and wanted to watch the video, so we did. He has a thing for "Smilies". So I thought I would try and make him a smiley card with MCT products, for his first day of school.

To get the circles, I used the smallest circle from the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, cut it out of fun foam, and created my own stamp. Then I used one of the face stamps from the You Make Life Sweet Stamp & Die Set. The sentiment is from the Write On Stamp Set, I masked it off with post-it tape, so that I could use the two different color inks. Similar to what Kristina did in her video. I used the largest oval from the Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies to get the shape on the bottom.

I used the mason jar die and stamp from the My Thoughts Are With You Stamp Set, then I used the "made with love" stamp from the All Around Goodies Stamp Set, and the largest heart die from the Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set.
