Cook and Craft

Happy Monday!!!
Today is another Cook and Craft day on the My Creative Time blog. I made a quick bookmark for my sweet nephew. He loves to read like his auntie and momma, so I thought I would make him a bookmark that he could use while reading his minecarft chapter books.

I made it with green paper because that is his favorite color. I used the Shine Like the Stars
set to decorate it and some black twine to make it easier to find. I also back it with another die cut bookmark, this helped make it thicker/sturdier. Since he is only 7, I thought it would make it a bit more durable.

So... I thought I would share one of my favorite marinades with you. You an find the recipe hereThis recipe has the yummiest marinade and talks about how to make skewers and a yogurt sauce. I've made them this way before and they are yummy, but I mostly just use just the marinade. I love letting the chicken marinade overnight and then cooking it on the grill and making tacos. I make these carb free tortilla's/wonder wraps (I do just Psylluim husk, egg whites, and 1Tbls taco seasoning). Then I layer them with spinach, chicken, cheese, and avocado. So so good!
Obviously, this marinaded chicken can be eaten on salads, or on it's own with veggie sides... this is just my favorite way.

  3. Love the bookmark Ruthie! My son loved to read too, but then he hit middle school where he promptly told me that cool kids did not read. I was devastated! Now he reads sometimes, and what he had to read for college. I hope he will get back into reading as he ages. The recipes look so yummy and I can't wait to try them all! Hugs, Brenda
