Happy Halloween!

I just had to do a quick post to share a photo of my sweet little Zachary, in the costume I made him!
He is pretty much the sweetest elephant you have ever seen right?!?
I am super excited because Zachary, and the costume, were featured here!

It's going to be a great week! I will be featuring cards, all week, from the Birthday Bash and Nifty Fifties Cricut Carts! They are the coolest carts! Then on Saturday I am hosting the Banner Blog Hop!  Make sure you hop along with us, there will be tons of inspiration and giveaways at each stop! I can't wait! :)
Happy Halloween!

Casey and Leif's Wedding

Happy Saturday!

A couple weeks ago Casey and Leif got married. My BFF, Caroline, she is Casey's aunt.  We helped Casey plan, organize, and design/decorate for the wedding. Caroline is an amazing event planner and since I make spaces comfortable and pretty for a living (I'm also obsessed with organizing) I think it was meant to be that we help Casey & Leif.
Casey and Leif live in a small town, nestled in the mountains about 45 minutes east of San Diego. They rented the town's community center for the wedding/reception and I am pretty sure it hasn't been "updated" since it was build in the 60's. Unfortunately, they were promised a lot of things.... things that never happened. So Caroline and I were on a mission to make sure it looked just the way Casey had envisioned.

Caroline and I were up until 3:30 am, the morning of the wedding, making the flower arrangements. It's hard to see here, but the vases were filled, a 1/3rd of the way, with water and there were different sized "fake" diamonds and sapphires in the water, there was also a water proof light, that made them sparkle. It was an evening wedding, so when the sun went down the only lighting in the hall, came from the 40 lanterns that were hung from the ceiling and the 100 flickering candles, that were on the tables. It was beautiful! When Casey saw it for the 1st time, she started to cry.
Here is a close-up of the place cards.
The wish tree. Guests wrote wishes on the cards and hung them on the tree. A few will be mailed to Casey and Leif, every week, for the 1st year.

We even had a Candy buffet!
The ring pillow... of course it coordinated.
Congrats Casey & Leif! Love you guys!
Caroline and I survived making the 30 floral center pieces, for the benefit last night. They turned out really cute! I will post some photos, once I get them from Caroline, next week.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a safe Halloween!

"Let's Face it Friday's" Challenge #4

Happy Friday!

Today is going to be a very busy day for me. I am helping my BFF make 30 flower arrangement center pieces for a event she has tonight. If it all works out, like we have planned, it should only take us 3-4 hours to complete them. I will post photos tomorrow so you can see how they cute they are. :)

Today is the 4th "Let's Face it Friday" challenge. The challenge is to make a ornament with a  Peachy Keen face stamp.
One of my favorite things to do at Christmastime is to make ornament mini albums. This one is for a friend who loves penguins. I made it so that it would hold 8 small photos. I used photos that she had posted, from Christmas last year, on her Facebook page.
All of the paper I used is Bazzil card stock and this Peachy Keen stamp set was used to make the sweet face. The sentiments on the pages are from Pink by Designs new Christmas Wishes set . My bestie gifted the set to me! :)
I will probably add some more decorative stuff on the inside pages...but you get the idea.
The back looks just like the front. Don't forget to date it!
I hope you play along with us! I can't wait to see what everyone creates!
I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend! I am hoping to spend some quality time with my Cricut. :)

One last Halloween card!

Happy Thursday!

So today's card is another monster card...I need to get them all in while I can. :)
I used Make-the-Cut to covert this graphic of the monster and then I cut it out with my Cricut.
The card is a z-fold card (some might call it and S-fold). The papers are MME and DCWV.
The jute/twine and dew dots are from Michael's.
I think it turned out really cute!

I will see you tomorrow with  a new "Let's face it Friday" Challenge!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Cricut Cradz Challenge #48

Happy Wednesday!

This is my card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge blog. The challenge for this week is to create a card for Thanksgiving, using a card feature from any cart.
The card base was cut from the Sentimentals cart at 10" and the turkey was cut from the Simply Charmed cart at 3.5".
The paper is DCWV and ChatterBox. The jute is from Michael's. My bestie let me borrow her Pink by Design Bountiful Blessings Stamp Set, for the sentiment.

and you know me... I always have to finish the inside too...
Now head on over to the Cricut Cadz Challenge blog and check out all the other DT cards. Hopefully, they will inspire you to make a card too!

I hope you have a wonderful day!
I will be back tomorrow with another monster card!

Rock On!

Happy Tuesday!

As soon as I saw the graphic, that I used for this card, I knew that I wanted to convert it.
It made me laugh... the mohawk is hysterical!
The graphic is from here. I converted it in Make-the-Cut and then cut it out on my Cricut. The papers are from the DCWV Midnight Spell designer and card stock stacks.
I used the Pink by Design "Rock On" stamp set  for the sentiment. The grosgrain ribbon is from Michael's.
See you tomorrow with a card for the new challenge on the Cricut Cradz Challenge blog!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lettering Delights Monster

Happy Monday!

It's raining here in San Diego and I LOVE it! Especially, because I have nowhere that I have to be today and I am going to stay in comfy clothes, listen to the rain, and hopefully get a ton of work done. :)

I have a card that I want to share but... I wanted to share something else first!
I am soooo excited because on Nov.6th I will be hosting a Banner Blog Hop!  There are 20 super talented bloggers who are hard at work, making holiday banners for the hop. I can't wait to see what they all come up with! So mark your calender! You don't want to miss it!

Now on to today's card...
This is another Make-the-Cut card. I used this graphic set from Letteringdelights.com. I love all the monsters in this set. It was hard just picking one!
The paper is from the K and Company, Spook*Tacular paper stack and the solid paper is DCWV. The ribbon was purchased from Michael's and the edge punch is Martha Stewart's Goo Punch.
I'll be back tomorrow with another MTC Halloween card!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Finally Friday!

Happy Friday!

I am sooooo glad that it is Friday! I have so much to do/get done this weekend! Last weekend in it's entirety, was almost completely taken up for Casey & Leif's wedding. Not only did I only get about 10 hours of sleep (the entire weekend), but I had so much to do that I didn't even get any photos taken. I am so sad. :( Everything was so beautiful and came together just like we planned, but it was so much work! (not sure I want to be a wedding planner anytime soon) I will post a few photos once Casey gets them from her photographer. Keeping my fingers crossed that she got some good ones!

One of the things on my list for this weekend is this...
Not he baby, LOL, but the elephant costume. I am making it for my nephew. This is his 1st Halloween. I'm not huge fan of Halloween, but this costume was to cute to pass up! Wish me good sewing vibes! :)

O.K.... enough chit chat! On to today's card!
So this is another graphic from LetteringDelights.com that I converted in Make-the-Cut and then cut out on my Circut. I love that the pumpkin is square. :)
The papers are from DCWV, Cosmo Cricket, and Doodlebug Designs. The boarder punch is the "treading water" punch from Fiskars and the jute is from Michael's.
I love polka dot paper... I just can't seem to get enough of it! :)
The colors are pretty great too!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
See you Monday!

Monster Mash

Happy Wednesday!

As soon as I saw the graphic for today's card I could here the song "Monster Mash" playing in my head.  I think Frankie looks just like he is dancing the monster mash. I purchased the graphic set from Letteringdelights.com. Unfortunately, the set is no longer available for purchase. :(

The tombstone was cut from the Happy Hauntings cart at 5". Frankie was cut at 4 1/2" using Make-the-Cut and my Cricut.
The paper is from the DCWV Black Currant stack and the Latte card stock stack. His face is from the Monster Mash Face Assortment from Peachy Keen.
I 'm still amazed at how I can take a graphic, covert it, and then cut it out on my Circut! I love my Cricut... she's the best!  (Make-the-Cut is pretty great too!)

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge

Happy Tuesday morning!

My bestie, The Scrapbooking Queen, is hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness challenge on her blog. She has received a ton of very beautiful cards from some amazingly talented ladies.

I told her that I would make some cards for the cause. In all honesty though, making encouraging cards for women with breast cancer,  has been a lot harder for me to do then I had expected...

This January will be the 9th anniversary of my mom's death, due to complications from Advanced (Metastic) Breast Cancer. I keep thinking about her and all the things that she went through... I keep thinking about how much has changed in the last nine years. It's so strange, how at times it seems like it was a lifetime ago and at other times it seems like it was just yesterday. As I type this, my 7 month old nephew, Zachary, is sitting in the bouncy seat next to me, playing with a toy and making happy sqeeling noises. It makes me so sad when I think about all the things that she has missed. I wish that she was here to rock and sing to him, read him books, smother him with kisses/love on him. It breaks my heart that he will never get the chance to know her and it makes me even more sad to think that I am not the only one who's mother, grandmother, aunts, cousins, and friends have died from this disease.

But... I pulled it together and made a card.
I gave her black hair in honor of my mom... she had the most beautiful black hair.
I realize that this is not your traditional "encouragement"card. I wanted the card to be fun and since it is almost Halloween, I decided that a pink witch would be perfect.
The witch is a graphic from here that I converted in Make-the-Cut and then cut out on my Cricut. The paper is from the DCWV Black Currant stack and the ribbon and bling are from Michael's. I used the Princess Face Assortment stamps from Peachy Keen, for her face.
I hope that my card will bring a smile to someone's face.
I know that it would have made my mom smile.
