My Creative Time January 2018 Release Week - Day 2

Today is the second day of sneaks for this months My Creative Time new release. If you have arrived from Liz's blog, you are on the right track. If you would like to start from the beginning, click here. Today the design team is sneaking a new set of dies called "XOXO Boarder Dies". 

As you can see... these boarder dies are so much fun! You get four nesting rectangle dies and a "XOXO" word die in this set. I made a card with the two largest rectangles. The balloon and sentiment are from an older MCT set. I'm going to have a lot of fun with these new dies!

I made a shaped card with the two largest dies. It was quick and easy and turned out so cute! The sentiment is from one of the older MCT stamp sets.

 I made this sweet Valentine's Day card with the new kit. I used the stencil to make the heart background, the heart "balloons" and sentiment are both from the new kit as well.

Manly Monday

Happy Monday!!!

Today is Manly Monday on the My Creative Time blog. I made a quick Valentine's card for today's project. I started with the largest rectangle die from the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies and the Grainy Wood Background Stamp - REVISED. I cut the largest heart from the Stitched Sweethearts & XOXO Dies out of post it paper and created a mask. Once the mask was attached to the front of the rectangle. I lightly inked around the edge and once I liked the look, I pulled up the mask. Then I stamped the sentiment, from the Chalkboard Valentines in the center of the heart I created with the mask. Lastly, I added the glitter hearts. They were cut from the dies from the Carved Heart.

I needed to make a quick card for a friend and I think this is going to be my new "go to" quick/easy & give a piece of chocolate card! I attached the chocolate with a piece of foam tape.

Made in Minutes

Happy Monday!!!

Today is "Make it in Minutes" day on the My Creative Time blog. Which means that we have to make our project in minutes. I've had the idea of this card rolling around in my head for a couple weeks. 

It came together pretty quickly. I added the red sequins at the last minute to pull your eye down and to add a bit of balance to the red ribbon. A quick tip... if you want to recreate the embossing/cut out effect, cut the die/heart out first and then emboss the paper. If you do it the other way around, you will smash the embossing as you cut out the die.

I love this new white twine! It's going to be so fun being able to customize it with colored mist's and alcohol inks.

Here is a close-up of the hearts. I used an embossing powder on the larger heart. It's called Polysparkle , it's clear with a bit of sparkle, my new favorite.

Inspiration Wednesday!

Happy Friday!!!

Today is "Inspiration Wednesday" over on the My Creative Time blog.

I saw this card (if you scan down the page, the picture is also below) on Pinterest a couple weeks ago and I thought it would be fun to "scrap lift" the design for today's post. 

So here is my version.

I made two cards, one in black and white and one in grey & white. Which one do you like? I like the black and white on better, I think.

I would also normally use white embossing powder on the sentiment, but I  thought I would try the white Colorbox ink. It stamped really nicely! I am very impressed!

This is my inspiration card.

I was attracted to this card because of the the sentiment. I am currently reading a series of books and the leading lady refers to her man as "quiver boy". LOL... It's a fantasy series and he is a dark elf and he carries a bow and arrows (quiver).  Anyway, enough about my 

 teenage "fantasy series" reading habits. 

I love how they turned out... I'm thinking I need to "scrap lift" ideas more often.
