Happy Wednesday!

If you are looking for today's guest designer post, click here.

Today is the third day of sneak peaks for My Creative Time's July releases. Today's sneak peak's are all from the new set called, All Around Halloween and I also used the new scallop die.

I made a pumpkin gift box.
The pumpkin is a svg that I purchased from The DigiChick Shop, it's called the Perfect Pumpkin.
The leaves were cut from the Paper Dolls for Everyday cart.
The stem is a piece of paper bag that I wrapped with raffia and hot glued down.
The sentiment stamp, Stitched Embossing Plate die, and Scalloped Tag die were all used in my sneak. I am loving these new dies!
Here is what the box looks like open. I have some yummy confetti inside, I love making it during the holiday's with color coordinated M&M's. You can find a great tutorial and recipe here.

Wednesday Summer Fun "Guest Designer"

 Happy Wednesday!

Today is the eight week of my summer guest designer series. This week's guest designer is my DT sister, Glora, her blog is Glora's Crafts.

Hello, this is Glora from Glora's Crafts, and I'm beyond thrilled to have been asked by Ruthie to be a guest designer today. I have been a fan of Ruthie's ever since she started as a Design Team member for Peachy Keen Stamps and now I'm lucky to be on the My Creative Time Design Team with her. She has a perfect eye for color and pattern combination's and makes the most beautiful banners I've ever seen! I love everything she makes but she is, in my opinion, the Banner Queen! I think I might be crazy to post a banner on the Banner Queen's blog, but she was the one who has inspired me to start making a few banners, so I felt it was only appropriate. This is a mini-banner that I made and is hanging on the door of our family room.

Here are a couple of close ups since the details get a little bit lost in the whole picture:
The Popsicles are from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge, the font is from the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge, the cute face stamps are Princess Faces and Boy Mates from Peachy Keen Stamps, the twine is from The Twinery and the darling patterned paper is DCWV's Citrus Stack.

Thanks again Ruthie for this awesome opportunity, it was a lot of fun! Hugs- Glora

Ruthie here ~
Glora did a wonderful job on her banner don't you think? Don't forget to go to her blog and leave her some much deserved love!

Thanks so much Glora!

Don't forget that today is sneak peak #4, for My Creative Time's July new releases. You can see my post here. Tomorrow is release day and the blog hop!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

My Creative Time's July Stamp Release - Sneak Peaks!

Happy Tuesday!

Today is the second day of sneak peaks for My Creative Time's July releases. I wasn't able to get yesterday's card finished in time, so I will be showing you two cards today.

Yesterday's card was made with the new set called, Many Greetings. I know this set, is going to be my new "go to" set.
The card base is a tag from the Silhouette online store and the dress and suit jacket are both from SVGAttic.com's set called Classic Wedding SVG Collection.
The papers are Bazzil and DCWV's, Rustic stack.
I used the Curly Label Die and the matching stamp from the Inspiring Words (Accents), both can be purchased here. The "sneak" sentiment is from the new set called Many Greetings.

Today's' card was made with the new set called, Happy Mail.
The card shape and the car are both svg's from Lettering Delights, the set is called Leisure.
The papers are Papertrey Ink and Heidi Grace.
Love this little stamp!

Making a shaped Card in MTC

Happy Thursday!

I have had quite a few requests for a tutorial showing how to make shaped cards in Make-the-Cut. It's fairly simple once you figure it out.

I decided to use one cuts from the Simple Shape Bundle, that I purchased a couple weeks ago. The simple shape sets are great because they only have one layer and they are really easy to work with!
He is from Lettering Delights, simple shape Monters SVG set.
I embossed the top layer with my swiss dots folder and then sanded it a bit so that the white center came through.  I also added some googlie eyes, for fun.

This was probably the easiest and fastest card, I have made in a really long time! If you have not seen or checked out the new Cut It files from Lettering Delights, I highly recommend that you do.

Here is the video tutorial showing how I made the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!

My 1st SVG Attic Design Team Project

Happy Tuesday!

I am so excited becasue today is my 1st "official" post as an SVG Attic designer.

I was introduced to Jessica, a couple months ago, when she was a featured artist on The Paper Dolls blog. I really liked how clean and simple her svg designs were, and it didn't take long before I was stalking her blog and Facebook page. I am so very honored that she wanted me to be a part of her design team.

Today's project was made with her newest SVG set, called Summer Lanterns.

I decided to create a "Beach House" lantern. I have friends who have rented a beach house for the summer. A couple weeks ago I went and stayed with them for a couple of days. I thought it would be fun to create a lantern that would remind them of their summer and cute little beach house that was their home.

The lantern, windows, door, shingles, window box, and bushes are all from the Summer Lanterns set. The surf boards, bathing suits, umbrella, and beach ball are from the Just Beachy set. The lantern and bamboo pieces holding up the clothesline, are from the Luau Collection. At the bottom of the post I will list all of the sizes, just in case you want to try making one yourself.

Here is what it looks like with a candle inside.

It looks so cute sitting on the table. I kinda don't want to part with it. :)

Here are all the specific cut sizes. Make sure to keep the proportion button on so that both sizes change, not just the width.

Lantern: 6.9501 wide
 Shingles: 6.6250 wide
Windows: 2.3281 wide
Top of door: 1.3281 wide
Base of door: 1.4844 wide
Window box/flowers: 2.7242 wide
Large shrub: 2.9607 wide
Small shrubs (2): 2.3999 wide
Flowers: 1.2875 wide

Surf Board #1: 0.7479 wide
Surf Board #2: 0.6742 wide
Swim Trunks: 0.8498 wide
2-piece: 1.7442 wide
Umbrella: 2.2336 wide
Beach Ball: 0.8332wide

Lantern: 0.8171 wide
Bamboo: 0.2148 wide

I made the lanterns handle with a 6" x 1" piece of paper, that I attached at the top with small white brads. I also placed vellum on the inside of the lantern, behind the windows, to create the effect of glass.  All of the papers I used were from DCWV and the twine was from Paper and Parcel.

If you have time stop by the SVGAttic.com and check out the new store and blog!

I hope you have a great day!

Paper Play Time!

Happy Monday!

A couple weeks ago, my friend Janis, asked me if I would be willing to be on her Paper Playtime design team, for the summer.   How could I say no? :)

Today is the start of a all new challenge. The requirements are to create a card that has a "summer" theme.
I made a BBQ Beach Party invite.
The frame shape is from the Lettering Delights svg set called, Good Lucky Gnomes. The retro looking BBQ and the cabobs are from SVGAttic.com's svg set called, Backyard BBQ.
The sentiment stamp's are from Emma's set called, Have Fun in the Sun.

I hope that you play along with us! Click here to go to the Paper Playtime Challenge blog.

I hope you have a wonderful day!
