Flaunt it Friday Challenge #3

Happy Friday!

Can you believe that Christmas is only a week away!?! I am sooo not ready. I still have so much to do. Hopefully, this weekend I will be able to get caught up on some things.

Anyway.. on to today's Flaunt it Friday Challenge.  This weeks challenge is to use the cup and lemon from page 48 on the Simply Charmed Cricut cart. Please use both of the images. If you do not have this cart, no worries,  you can still enter the challenge, just make sure you use a similar cut.

This is my card...
The lemons were cut at 1" out of the same paper as the background. I inked around each one and glued them down, trying to give the effect of the paper being embossed. The cup was cut at 3".
The twine is from the Twinery. The sentiment is from this Pink by Design stamp set. I used this punch to make the tag.
The PKS face stamp is from the Cheery-O face assortment.

I just love how it turned out! :)

I hope you will join us for this weeks challenge! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. You can click here to get to the Flaunt it Friday challenge blog!

Also... don't forget that tonight is the
Jingle- Jangle Blog Party!

The fun starts at 6pm eastern standard time! There will be lots or ideas for ornaments and blog candy at each stop along the way! I hope you will join us!

Have a wonderful day!

So on to my card for Kathy!
I used the Playtime Cricut cart for all the cuts. The striped frame was cut at 4 1/4", the blue frame was cut at 3 1/2" and the little queen was cut at 3".
The papers are K and Co and DCWV. The ribbon is 5/8 grosgrain from Michael's.
I used the Peachy Keen "Princess Faces" stamps for her face.
The sentiment stamp is from Joyslife.com's Father and Son's Stamp set.

I also made Kathy a banner!
It's say's "Peachy Queen", because that is exactly what she is, our Peachy Queen! :)
I used the Birthday Bash cart for the flags and the lettering. The flags were cut at 5", the letters were cut at 2 1/2", and the ovals were cut 3".
I used a 6" cream tulle to string the flags together.
I added Martha Stewart glitter to the ovals to add some shimmer. The crown was cut from the Once Upon a Princess cart, at 2 1/2". I stamped it with the Peachy Keen "Princess Faces" stamp set. I also added a little bling. :)

Eating Crow

Happy Monday!

It feels good to be up and around again. I have have been terribly sick the last two weeks and I have missed all of you! I am starting to feel a little like myself again and I was even able to spend some time today with my bestie, we went shopping, to lunch, and then spent a little quality time with our Cricuts.

I want to let you know, that I know, that I need to announce the winners of my two giveaways. The first winner, from last weeks Flaunt it Friday Blog Hop, has been picked but I am having problems with my comment system. When it is back up and running correctly, I will announce the winner. The second giveaway is for yesterday's Thank You Gift's Blog Hop. I am going to keep the comments open for a second day, just in case someone had to work yesterday and was unable to hop with us. I will pick the winner tonight and announce both winners tomorrow morning.

  So on to today's post....

I have to admit something to all of you... when I first saw the "Shall We Dance?" Cricut cart, I wasn't impressed. In fact, I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to ever have a need for that cart. Ever. I have no little ballerina's in my life, not a fan of Dancing with the Stars or So you Think You Can Dance.., and none of the images were appealing. Even after a couple of my PKS design team members made super cute cards with the cart... I still wasn't feeling it.

Well, that all changed when I actually held the cart in my hands. When I was able to see the images up close and flip through the booklet... I realized that I was wrong! Now... in my defense I will say that I probably will not use this cart as a normal everyday cart, but all I could think of when I started looking at it was "Nutcracker". The Nutcracker Ballet is my most favorite video/music to watch and listen to during the holiday's. Each image reminded me of a different part of the ballet.
This is the dance of the snowflakes

This is my snowflake card.
Isn't she pretty!?!

The ballerina is from page 22. She was cut at 4". The purple top note shape behind her was cut from the Playtime cart at 4 1/4". I outlined it with some Martha Stewart clear glitter. I also added a little glitter to her dress.
The papers are Cosmo Cricket and Coordinations Gemstone paper.
I wanted to use a Peachy Keen face stamp but he face was to small, so I cut the original eyes and mouth.

So... I admit it... I was wrong about the Shall We Dance? cart. :)

If you haven't left a comment yet for the Peachy Keen Happy Lashes stamps that I am giving away. Click here and leave a comment.

I will be back tomorrow with another Nutcracker card and the winners of my two giveaways!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

**Giveaway Closed** Thank You Gift's Blog Hop!

Happy Sunday!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us today! If you came from Joy's Life you are on the right track. If not then click here and start at the beginning.  You want to make sure that you stop at each blog, you don't want to miss any of the gift ideas and the blog candy!

Today's hop is all about inexpensive and easy gifts. I am going to show you how to make two different sugar scrubs. I started making sugar scrub about 10 years ago. It was a very popular thing back then and a little to expensive for my budget. One day while I was in Bath and Body Works, I got the idea that maybe I could make my own scrub with some sugar and some of their body wash. I was buying a ton of body wash on sale and I figured that it wouldn't hurt to try it. Guess what? It totally worked! So for the last few years I have been making it for myself and for gifts. It is a huge hit!

Today I am going to show you how to make two different kinds of scrub. The first is just a basic body or hand scrub. All you need is a container, sugar, and some sort of body or hand wash.
I like using Ziploc Twist'n Lock containers but you can use any type of container. I use Bath and Body Works shower gel, but any type of shower gel will do. Target and Wal-mart have a huge selection of shower gels in a lot of wonderful scents.  If you wanted to make a hand scrub you can use any hand soap gel. Bath and Body Works sells hand soap and my other favorite is Softsoap's, black raspberry & vanilla. Carrie at Greenbean's Crafterole
made some hand scrub a few weeks ago and she used Dawn dish soap! She is brilliant!
So the first thing you need to do is fill your container 3/4 full of sugar. Then take your body wash or hand soap and cover the top of the sugar, like below.
Then take a fork or spoon and stir it together. You may have to add more soap depending on the consistency. You don't want it to be to grainy or to wet.
When you are finished mixing, it should look something like below.
Easy Peasy!
Then put the top on and "blinged" up the container a bit. I used Joy's new stamp set, All Round Sentiments to create the tags and embellishments for the top of each container. I LOVE these stamps! They are perfect for homemade gifts!
Please excuse my messing stamping... it was totally my error (trying to be quick) and nothing to do with the quality of the stamps. :) They work perfectly with a 1 1/2" circle punch and a 2" scallop punch.

The second scrub is a chocolate coffee scrub. This one is a HUGE hit!
For the coffee scrub you need:
1/2 cup of sugar
3 Tbl spoons of Cocoa Powder
3 Tbl spoons of Coffee grounds (a yummy smelling one is even better)
3-4 Tbl of either Sunflower or Olive oil

Mix everything together and tada! Another quick and easy gift.

If you want to see all of this live, you can watch the videos below.

*Giveaway Closed* 1st "Flaunt it Friday" Challenge and Blog Hop!

Happy Friday!

I am so excited because not only is today the 1st day of the "Flaunt it Friday" challenge but we are also having a blog hop to celebrate!

If you have arrived here from Jess's blog then you are in the right place!  If not, CLICK HERE to start at the beginning. Remember to leave a comment on every stop along the way, and leave a 2nd comment on the Flaunt It Fridays blog saying you've visited everyone and left a comment at each stop, for a 2nd chance to win the Grand Prize sponsored by Peachy Keen Stamps!

The 1st challenge is to create a project around the snowman cut on page 29 of the Winter Frolic Cricut cart! No worries though if you don't have the cart... you can use any other snowman cut that you have.

For the 1st challenge, I created a card.
The papers are from the DCWV "Tis' the Season" paper stacks. You can't really see it, but I also used an Action Wobble on the snowman.
The twine is from The Twinery and the sentiment stamp is from the Our 2 Angles in Heaven Stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.
The edge punch is the Fiskars Apron Lace punch.
The sweet little face stamp is from the Happy Lashes PKS stamp set.

On to the blog hop part of this post....

For the blog hop I created this holiday banner. We were asked to use another cut from the Winter Frolic cart. I choose to use the Carolers from page 45.
Banners can be so hard to photograph!
The papers are from DCWV and My Minds Eye.
The flag pieces of the banner were cut from the Birthday Bash cart, at 5". The carolers were cut at 2 1/2". I ended up separating them so that they would fit better on the flags.
Their faces are from the Basic Paper Doll Faces from PKS.
I found the oval and cut them at 2 3/4" and the letters were cut from the Country Living cart at 2 1/4".
I covered the letters with Martha Stewart's micro beads, color Brownstone and strung it with a  6" cream tulle.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today! Below is a list of all the blogs in the hop. Make sure you visit each blog and leave comment so that you have a chance to win the PKS blog candy.

Make me merry card and a announcement!

Happy Wednesday!

I have an exciting announcement to make. My friend's Sandra and Janis have started a new challenge blog called "Flaunt it Fridays". This blog is all about "flaunting" our Cricut cartridges and each Friday there will be a new challenge, which will focus on "Flaunting" a specific cut from a Cricut cart. I was honored, when they asked me to be a part of the winter design team. Our first challenge is this Friday and to celebrate we are having a blog hop! It's going to be lots of fun and there will be some blog candy thrown in too!

In-fact they are having a give away right now!

To celebrate our launch of Flaunt It Fridays we are giving away one set of Peachy Keen Stamps

To win these stamps all of you have to do is leave us a comment here, be a Follower and help spread the word on your blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc. and post our button on the sidebar. We will announce the winner on our very First Challenge Day December 3rd!!

Head on over to the Flaunt it Fridays blog, grab the blinkie, and leave a message. You never know, you might just win a set of Peachy Keen stamps!

Now on to today's card!
The little girl and her cat were cut from the new Playtime cart. She was cut at 4 1/4". The frame/label was cut from the Lacy Labels cart at 5".
The papers are DCWV and My Minds Eye. The sentiment stamp is from this stamp set.
I gave the cat a bling collar. I figured she deserved it... I also drew in her little cat face. the cart cuts out eye and a nose but they were super small.
I used the new Peachy Keen stamp set called Happy Lashes for her face. I think this is my favorite set right now. :)

Don't forget that the 1st challenge and grand opening blog hop, for the Flaunt it Fridays Challnge blog, will be this Friday!

I hope you have a wonderful day! See you tomorrow!
