Today's hop is all about inexpensive and easy gifts. I am going to show you how to make two different sugar scrubs. I started making sugar scrub about 10 years ago. It was a very popular thing back then and a little to expensive for my budget. One day while I was in Bath and Body Works, I got the idea that maybe I could make my own scrub with some sugar and some of their body wash. I was buying a ton of body wash on sale and I figured that it wouldn't hurt to try it. Guess what? It totally worked! So for the last few years I have been making it for myself and for gifts. It is a huge hit!

Today I am going to show you how to make two different kinds of scrub. The first is just a basic body or hand scrub. All you need is a container, sugar, and some sort of body or hand wash.
I like using Ziploc Twist'n Lock containers but you can use any type of container. I use Bath and Body Works shower gel, but any type of shower gel will do. Target and Wal-mart have a huge selection of shower gels in a lot of wonderful scents.  If you wanted to make a hand scrub you can use any hand soap gel. Bath and Body Works sells hand soap and my other favorite is Softsoap's, black raspberry & vanilla. Carrie at Greenbean's Crafterole
made some hand scrub a few weeks ago and she used Dawn dish soap! She is brilliant!
So the first thing you need to do is fill your container 3/4 full of sugar. Then take your body wash or hand soap and cover the top of the sugar, like below.
Then take a fork or spoon and stir it together. You may have to add more soap depending on the consistency. You don't want it to be to grainy or to wet.
When you are finished mixing, it should look something like below.
Easy Peasy!
Then put the top on and "blinged" up the container a bit. I used Joy's new stamp set, All Round Sentiments to create the tags and embellishments for the top of each container. I LOVE these stamps! They are perfect for homemade gifts!
Please excuse my messing stamping... it was totally my error (trying to be quick) and nothing to do with the quality of the stamps. :) They work perfectly with a 1 1/2" circle punch and a 2" scallop punch.

The second scrub is a chocolate coffee scrub. This one is a HUGE hit!
For the coffee scrub you need:
1/2 cup of sugar
3 Tbl spoons of Cocoa Powder
3 Tbl spoons of Coffee grounds (a yummy smelling one is even better)
3-4 Tbl of either Sunflower or Olive oil

Mix everything together and tada! Another quick and easy gift.
