3-d Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!

Today is 3-d Wednesday on the My Creative Time blog.

So I lied yesterday that it was my last Halloween post... I have one more. I just couldn't help myself!
7-7
I saw an idea similar to this on Pinterest, but I did change it up a bit. I have a friend who is obsessed with Goldfish Crackers. I think they are nasty little things, but who am I to judge? :) Anywhoo... they worked perfectly to help my jar look like a jack-o-lantern. It also helped when I added the vinyl to the front. This face is from Treasure Box Designs, I sized it at 3.25" wide by 3" tall. I applied the bow with some glue dots and the tag with some twine.
6-6
I love this new Teeny Tag Holiday stamp set! I think it's my new favorite set.

Totally Treats Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!

Today is the start of a all new feature over on the My Creative Time blog, called "Totally Treats". I am looking forward to seeing what all the other designs make. I love treats!

I decided to make one last fun Halloween treat, some ghost pretzels.
3-3
I am all about some chocolate covered pretzels. :) So I thought I would try making some ghost pretzels. I like how they turned out, but I am disappointed in the Wilton Food Writers, I tried to make the faces with a black one and it don't work. I even took it back and got another, thinking it might be old. I have never had any other problems with Wilton products, so I was bummed but I suggest not even wasting your time with the Food Writers. I did find these writers on Amazon and they have really good reviews, so I'll probably order them at some point.

For the topper, I used the scalloped Tag DieI cut it, from the bottom up, at 4" and then scored it at 2", and folded it in half (the scallop part goes in the front). It's attached/sealed to the bag with glue dots. Lastly, I added the banner w/sentiment and twine.
Super easy!

WELL....wait no longer, it is available now in Emma's store HERE!

Zachary and I made some monster treats.
2-2
I have seen different versions of these crispy treats on Pinterest. My little Zachary has  allergies to several different foods, but with one replacement he is able to eat crispy treats. He is allergic to milk, so we replaced the butter with Earth Balance Coconut Spread, which is a butter alternative.   All you do, different, is add a bit of green food coloring to the marshmallow & butter mixture. The green didn't seam to coat the crispy's as well as some of the examples on Pinterest, I am wondering if that had anything to do with the fact that I replaced the butter? Anyway, he was really happy, so I am happy and he is obsessed with crispy treats now. :)
5-5
I thought it would be fun to add a popsicle stick, to the treats, to make it easier to eat them. I am not a huge fan of sticky fingers. :) Once I added the sticks, I knew I needed to dress them up a bit so I stamped them with some Halloween sentiments. If you are going to try this at home, just remember to use Staz On ink, the regular stuff bleeds on the wood.

Today's project is a treat pail that I made for my nephew.
11-11
I saw these cute little orange metal pails at Target in the $1 spot and I knew that all they were missing was a bit of vinyl! I sized and cut the jack-o-lantern's face at 2.6"x 3".  After applying the vinyl, I filled it with some treats, made the "Happy Halloween" rosette, and tied some brightly colored ribbons onto the handle.

I love how it turned out!

Halloween Hustle - Day 3!

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to day 3 of our 5 days of "Halloween Hustle"!

There will be giveaways all week! Check Emma's blog to see what it will be!  Also, if you missed out on our sale last week, well....for this SPECIAL week ONLY, Emma has extended it! WELL....wait no longer, it is available now in my store HERE!

Today's project is a decorative frame that I made.
7-7
I've been wanting to alter a frame like this since Emma released the Stitched Hexy Dies a couple months ago. Originally  I was going to cover the entire frame with hex's, but I liked the look of just the partial cover, leaving a bit of the paint to show. I love how the smaller die looks with this frame, but I think next time I will use the medium one.... that was a ton of tiny hex's to cut out and ink. ;)
6-6
I painted the frame with one coat of black paint. Once it dried, I sanded it a bit to give it a worn/beat-up look. When all of my hex's were cut and inked, I started applying them with Mod Podge. I just slowly and randomly placed them. They are not placed on the frame perfectly straight, but that's ok... I really like how it turned out.

I made a treat holder.
2-2
These are so simple to make! The purple piece was cut at 3.5"x 8.75". Then I scored it at 3"and 6".

This is what it looks like on the inside. It holds one Ghirardelli square.
3-3
I secured the inside pocket with Score Tape, on each side, and then slipped the chocolate inside.

MCT New Release Week - Day 3

Happy Wednesday!

Today is day 3 of sneaks for My Creative Time's new release week! The sneaks today are for two different sized scalloped bow dies. My project was made with the small bow die.

I made other quick and easy Halloween treat.
1-1
I found these bags at Michael's and I thought they would be fun to make Halloween treats with. I attached the tag to the bow with a bit of twine and then attached the bow & tag to the bag with some quick dry glue.

I filled my bags with chocolate nuggets, but any kind of candy would work.

Today is day two of sneaks for My Creative Time's new release week. We are showcasing a new all around stamp set and rosette dies today! I am super excited, because I have been patiently waiting on Emma to make rosette dies. She finally did and in two sizes too!

I used the larger die made some festive cupcake/muffin toppers.

MCT October Sneak Peaks - Day 1

Happy Monday!

Today is day one of sneaks for My Creative Time's new release week!

I made a quick and fun Halloween treat.
3-3
I used the spider stamp from the Fright Night Stamp Set and inked him up with some StazOn ink. I very gently stamped the spider on the front of the bag, be careful because the stamp may slide and blur your spider.
1-1
The tag/ticket was made with the the new stamp set called, Holiday Tickets Stamp Set. They work perfectly with the largest, Stitched Fun Ticket Die and help to make the ticket dies multi functional, so that you can design/use them like tags now too!
