Today is "Make it in Minutes" Day on the My Creative Time blog. I have had the idea for this card rolling around in my head for awhile. I thought today would be the perfect day to try it.

I love that Emma is putting the negative stitching on her dies now! It makes them so much more versatile. I love being able to use the negative and having the "i meant to do that" look b/c of the stitching. This card took me approx 8 minutes to make!

MCT 33nd Release Sneaks - Day 4

Happy Thursday!!!

It's the 1st day of sneaks for this months MCT new release's! Today we are sneaking two new items: Happy Thoughts & You are Fabulous sets.

I made a thank you card with the new Happy Thoughts set.

The card came together pretty quickly. It's and A2 size, the striped piece measures 5 1/8" x 3 7/8", and the polka dot piece measures 4 1/8" x 3". The small dots inside my flower are part of a set that will be released on Thursday.

Timeless Twine June Embellishment Kit

Happy Friday!

This week Timeless Twine released a new embellishment kit. Today is my day to showcase the kit. I made some journaling cards for my summer photos.

I plan to use the 4x6 as a title card, the white card has room for journaling, and the blue "I (heart) Summer" card is also a decorative card.

All materials are from the embellishment kit except for the Stitched Chevy Dies.

Designers Challenge

Happy Thursday!!!

Today is the start of an all new Designer's Challenge on the My Creative Time blog. This challenge is a 3 part one... we were to make a project with a patriotic theme using a specific color palette and a sketch. 

This card came together pretty quickly, thanks to the sketch. I love the 3 Star Stitched Dies 
and always forget about them, but they worked perfectly for this card. I only used the two smaller dies.

Patriotic Windsock

Happy Wednesday!!

Today is inspiration Wednesday over on the My Creative Time blog. I found this idea on Pinterest last year and thought it would be a fun activity to do with Z. The link above has a great tutorial, so I am not going to re-invent the wheel, but I will quickly tell you how we made them.

My SIL had two cans of expired baby formula, so I used/recycled those cans, but any size would work. I purchased some blue spray paint and sprayed both cans blue. Then I drilled two holes in the top of each can and used some jute cord for the hanger. You can use a hammer and screwdriver to create the holes if you don't have a drill. I purchased 7/8" wide white and red ribbon at Wal-mart. The rolls were 18ft (6yards) each. I cut the ribbon into 15" pieces. I was able to get 14 - 15" pieces from each roll. There was enough ribbon to do both cans.  I used white outdoor vinyl and cut out 14 white stars with the medium die from the 3 Star Stitched Dies set.

So once I had everything prepped, then I brought in Z to help me finish, since his attention span is not the longest. I helped him peal the backing off the vinyl stars and then let him attach the stars to both cans. Then he assisted in helping me attach the ribbon to the inside of each can. He handed me the ribbon and I attached each piece with a bit of hot glue from the hot glue gun.

I was the perfect activity/craft for his short attention span and he is so proud of his flag windsocks.

Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog. This time we were asked to create a scrapbook page or journaling card with a sketch. I am still working on my nephews album, so I made a journaling card. 

I haven't used/designed a  journaling card with a sketch before. I may start doing it more often though, because this card came together really quickly. I'm still working on the rest of the page, I'll share it later this week or next week.

Happy Wednesday!!!

Today is my dt day over on the Timeless Twine blog. This month, all month, Timeless Twine is having a color challenge. The colors are:

I got the new We Are Family papers from Echo Park, the colors worked, so I thought I would play with putting some of  the fun patterns together.

I cut 8 layers of the " hello" die and glued them all together, so that it would have some dimension. I also added some Glossy Accents to the add a bit of gloss. Lastly, I added some Firecracker twine, since it works perfectly with this challenge.

Happy Halloween

Happy Tuesday!!!

So today is "Try Me Tuesday" over on the My Creative Time blog. We are trying this cool stamp technique called "cluster" stamping. Here is a video showing how it's done. I made a Halloween card, I know it is a bit early, but I thought it would be fun to use the spider stamp from the Fright Night stamp set.

I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink, used Stampendous' white pearls translucent embossing powder and my heat gun, and then stamped the spiders with Tim Holtz' distress inks (spiced marmalade & black soot). They are water-based inks and can be easily wiped off the sentiment. If you use and archival or permanent ink, it stains the embossing and you will not be able to see your sentiment.
