Grad and Vaca Layouts

Happy Tuesday!

Hopefully, all of my US followers had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day. We have always marked Memorial Day as the official beginning of summer. Boy am I ever ready for summer. Here in Southern California that means the lots of trips to the beach and bay, lots of b.b.q's, and the county fair! I was to busy last year and didn't get a chance to go to the fair, so I can't wait.. bring on the fair!

I have a few more layouts today, in honor of summer.

This is niece #1, Lindsey graduating from high school.

The stamps are from My Creative Time's, Follow Your Dreams stamp set.
This is niece #2, Jenna and her bestie, Jessica. We refer to them as "Jennica" becasue they are inseparable. This photo was taken in Maui when they were staying with Jenna's grandma for the summer.

My Creative Time's stamp set, Have Fun in the Sun was perfect for this layout. I used the individual words to create a boarder detail along the side of the page.
This is another sentiment from the Have Fun in the Sun set. Both layouts have hidden journaling.

Can you believe that tomorrow is already June 1st? I will have my Peachy Keen Stamps sneak peak for you and the new release blog hop is this Friday! I can't wait to show you the projects I have made.
I hope you have a great day!

Spring Dance & Prom Layouts

Happy Saturday!

I have a few more layouts for you today. This is gorgeous niece #2, Jenna. This layout is photos taken the night of her junior prom.
The papers are from Cosmo Cricket and DCWV. The extra couple inches of green "space" above the bottom photo is where I have left room, for journaling. No hidden tags this time.
The sentiment is from My Creative Time's stamp set called Camera Shy. This set is just perfect for layouts!
This layout is candid photo's that were taken at her schools spring dance.
Again the sentiments are from Emma's Camera Shy. Don't they work perfectly with these photos?
The Camera Shy set also includes the arrow, seen here, a camera and a cheese stamp. So cute! This layout has my "hidden journaling" tags. If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can read about that here.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
See you on Monday!

I pulled it out a bit, in this photo, so you could see it.  I talk about my hidden tags in this post.
This is what the tag looks like... I still need to journal.
The stamp is from My Creative Time's, My Little Firecracker stamp set.  Anyone who owns a Jack Russel knows, this sentiment explains my Ruby well!
The dog is from the Four Legged Friends cart. I used Peachy Keen Stamps, PK-757 Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Assortment set.

The dog house is from Lettering Delights, Feliz Navi-dog svg set. I also chose a font off of my computer, GlooGun, and used MTC to cut out Ruby's name, for the dog house.

Everything will be fine...

Happy Wednesday!

Super quick post for you today.

So I hadn't planned on making two fish cards this week, it just sort of happened that way. I must have "fish" on the brain or something. LOL When I saw this little fish, it reminded me of a fancy goldfish that I  had. His name was "fish", super creative right?

This fish is a Silhouette design, from their online store. I searched for a fishbowl svg file and found a free one on the MTC forum. I created a shadow around it, welded two of them together, and created the base of the card.
The papers are from Papertrey Ink, DCWV, and K and Company.

The twine is from The Twinery and the sentiment is from My Creative Time's, Turn That Frown Upside Down.

Tomorrow is the start of a all new Throwback Thursday challenge. I can't wait to show you my project.
I hope you have a great day!

Senior Picture Layouts

Happy Tuesday!

When I was in Junior High and High School, just like today, I always had my camera with me. I loved taking pictures, still do. Like everyone else, during that time, I kept all my photos in magnetic albums. I decorated each page with stickers, pieces of memorabilia, and as much information about the photos as I could.  In 1992 I was invited to a Creative Memories class and my life changed forever. Sounds silly I know... but it really did. I was a CM consultant, taught classes, and had a small side business creating albums, for people who were to busy to scrapbook for themselves, for close to ten years.

I purchased my Cricut Expression a little over a year ago and since then, I haven't done much scrapbooking. Last week I found some photos and I knew that they would go perfect with My Creative Time's, Follow Your Dreams stamp set. What I love about Emma's stamps is that they are not just for cards, but they are the perfect size for layouts too. I have scrapped every size album, 12 x 12, 8 x10, 12 x 15, 8 1/2 x 11, 6 x 6, 4 x 6, but my most favorite is 8 x 8. Emma's stamps work perfectly!

So... I took some time this weekend, to work on some layouts.
This is my niece Lindsey. This is one of her senior photos, isn't she beautiful?
See? I told you! Emma's stamps are perfection!
Again, I used the Follow Your Dreams stamp set.

This is Gina, she is Lindsey's bestie and equally beautiful, no?
I am a very straight forward scrapbooker. I keep things quick, clean, and simple. I am definitely a "less is more" kind of girl.

Look at how crisp and clean the stamps, stamp.

I quickly want to talk a little bit about journaling. As you can see from my layouts, there isn't any journaling. Well... not that you can see. I know lots of people hate their handwriting and to be really honest, I am one of those people.  I have a small box full of cards, notes, and recipes that are from my  grandmother and mom. I can tell you that I cherish every single piece of paper in that box. Journaling is SO VERY IMPORTANT and writing it in your own hand is just as important. Want to know my secret? I create "hidden tags" for my journaling.  I write on tags and then slip them behind the photos. Brilliant idea no? It works perfectly! The memory is there and I don't have to cringe each time I look at the page b/c I hate my writing. I will show you an example, of my "hidden tags" later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Troubles... Blow Bubbles!

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend? I was able to get most of my blog projects for this coming week completed. Yay! So my goal of being in bed before midnight each night this week, well... it looks like it just might happen!  I was also able to get some scrapbooking done. Eep! I know! Since starting my blog, I haven't done any scrap booking other then special projects or gifts and I am so behind... like 5 or 6 years behind! :( In tomorrow's post I will  show you a couple of the layouts I completed.

So... on to day's card! Last week my sweet friend Liz sent me a surprise in the mail. Don't you just love getting "happy" mail? Anyhow, I had been working on this card, in my head, for a couple weeks and when I saw the sentiment, I knew it would be perfect for my card.
The puffer fish, bubbles, and sea grass are from a svg set called Something Fishy, you can get it at Lettering Delights. They are currently having a customer appreciation promotion, if you spend $10 or more, you get $5 off your order. All you have to do, at checkout, is enter coupon code: FiveForYou. They have some of the cutest svg files!
The papers are from Papertrey ink, Heidi Grace, and DCWV.
Isn't he so cute!?!
The sentiment is from this stamp set.

Tacky Tuesday's Challenege #6

Happy Tuesday!

I am so excited because today is Tacky Tuesday's Challenge #6!

First off, I wanted to announce the winner of challenge #5.  I used random.org to choose a winner and the winner is......  Charity Bamm! Congrats Charity! Thanks again, to everyone who entered the challenge.

Are you ready for the next challenge!?!

Remember, we changed the rules a bit. If you do not have the cut/cart that we pick, you can still play along as long as you use a similar cut, but you will still need to do a play on words somewhere on the front of your card.

So the cut for this month is a "car" cut and there are two choices for the word, "Wheel" or "Roll". You can use any car cut that you want, svg files are fine too.  Just make sure you incorporate one of the words in your sentiment.

Since  Charity won the last challenge, I have asked her to be a guest designer this challenge!

 Cathie

I ran out of time and didn't get a chance to make a card for this week challenge, but please leave some blog love for all my fabulous designers this week!
The winner of this month's challenge will receive this set of Joyslife.com stamps.
All you have to do to be entered, is make a card (to the specifications above) and post it on the Tacky Tuesday's Facebook page by June 7th. That's three weeks people!
Click here to go to the Tacky Tuesday Facebook page.

I hope you have a wonderful day!
