3-D Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!

Today is 3-D Wednesday on the My Creative Time blog. Emma asked us to create something that would display a photo, so a desktop stand or frame, or magnet frame for the fridge.

I made a mouse trap picture holder. I found the idea for this project here, but I changed it up a bit.
Really fun, right!?!
Gotta love Sigmond too! (Sigmond is the bat.)

I found the mouse traps at the $1 store. There are four traps in each bag.
I removed all the hardware, it's not to hard. Just make sure you leave the two middle loopy pieces, that hold the spring in place.
Once all the hardware was removed, I painted the edges and the backside black. Then I decopodged pattern paper to the front. I sanded the edges and inked, with black ink, all the way around.  Lastly, put just the arm and springs back on.
Then decorate the bottom and add some magnets to the back. I used my glue gun to make sure they were attached securely.
Then just add your photo!
Mouse Trap: $1 Store
Papers: Core'dinations & Echo Park's Chillingsworth Collection
Bat SVG: Scrapping Bug Designs, Vampire Box
Sentiment & Die: My Creative Time, Teeny Tag Greetings & Treats for My Sweet

Cutest Pumpkin!

Happy Monday

How was your weekend? Mine was hot and busy. The weather here in southern California as been crazy hot the last month or so. I am so ready for the cooler fall weather. While I was hiding inside, in the air conditioning, I was able to get some cleaning and organizing done. I also was able to work on some projects for my blog.

My Creative Time's Mini Release Sneak Peaks - Day 2

Happy Thursday!

Today is day two of My Creative Time's mini release sneak peak's.

I made a fun and easy Christmas favor or gift. Have you ever made "Snowman Soup"? It's kinda like smore's, a "must do" for everyone at least once!

The test tube has hot chocolate, candy cane pieces, and marshmallows layered inside. The back of the tag, say's "Just add 6oz of water". You pour it into a cupp with some hot water and give it a good stir. Lots of fun for kids. Most of the "big kids"I now, like it too.
The test tubes are from here. I bought the red ribbon from Liz's Paper Boutique and the paper is from PaperTrey Ink and My Mind's Eye.
The sentiment is from the new set called "All Around Goodies".

Harley Davidson Themed Album

Happy Friday!

A couple weeks ago I had someone email me through Etsy. I have a shop on Etsy, but I rarely list items in it. Anyway, she found pictures of a mini album that I made a few years back and she asked if I could make her one for her husband's 30th birthday.

This is how it turned out.
His party was going to have a Harley Davidson theme and she wanted the album to have that theme too. So, I stuck with a black, orange and chrome/silver color scheme. I had some Harley papers left from the 1st album that I made so I threw a couple of those in as well.
I tried to keep the pages simple, since she still has to add all the photos from the party.
She wanted a place for the guests to be able to write their well wishes, so I put two white tags inside each pocket. They can be pulled out and placed on the entry table so as the guests arrive they can write their messages.
I was so excited when I found this silver paper at Joanns! It embossed perfectly in my diamond plate embossing folder. The paper is super shiny and the embossing helped to tone it down a bit.
The album had 16 pages and 16 tags. It's been several years since I made a mini, but I really liked how it turned out. I hope the birthday boy and his wife, do too.
Here's one last look.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
