I made a shaped card.
I am in love with this new set! It has two fun dies and lots of fun sentiments!
Using my Gypsy, I sized the base shape to 5 1/2" tall x 4 1/4" wide. Then copied, duplicated it, and weld them together. The pink piece was sized at 5 1/4" x 4" and the leopard piece was sized at 4" x 3". Using Make-the-Cut, I sized the bear at 4" tall. The hearts are from the new die set called "Stitched Heart Layering dies".

MCT December New Releases - Sneak Peak Day 1!

Happy Friday!

Today is the first day of sneak peaks for My Creative Time's December stamp release. If you want to see all the sneaks, click here.

I created a home decor piece with one of the new Stitched Hearts Layering dies.
The black letters were cut out with the lowercase fun dies. I cut the "i", "u", and medium heart in red. I then took a 5 x 7 white artiste canvas and glued the letters and heart to it.  Lastly, I wrapped the ribbon around the edges and tied it in a bow at the top. You can secure it with a glue dot.

New Years...

Happy Friday!

Can you believe that it is almost the new year? Where the heck did 2012 go?

I have another fun shaped card for you today.
This is one of the new Scrapping Bug Designs files. I sized the bears & clock at 5" x 5". The shadow layer is .1600 bigger, all the way around. I welded two of the shadow layers together to form the base of the card.
Paper: PaperTrey Ink, Core'dinations
Bears SVG: Scrapping Bug Designs, Happy New Year

Kinda quick and simple, huh?

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Cheers... to a New Year!

Happy Thursday!

So... we are only a couple days from the new year and I thought it would be fun to share a project that I am working on for our new years night get-together.

I found these single bottles of sparkling cider at Smart & Final in bulk, but you can also find them at the Dollar Tree. I thought it would be fun to dress up the bottles a bit.
These tags were really simple to make. I cut the tags and then used the stitched circle die to create the circle at the top of the tag. I scored it right below where the circle was cut and then folded it. I cut the label die and stamped it with the coordinating stamps, then cut the banner die and stamped it with the sentiment. I glued the banner to the front of the label and then attached it to the folded down portion of the tag with foam tape.
Papers: PaperTrey Ink, My Minds Eye, Christmas
Tag Die: My Creative Time, Tag Dies
Label Dies: My Creative Time, Vintage Stitched Label Dies

Tulle: Michael's
Sparkling Cider: Smart & Final

Don't forget tomorrow will be the 1st sneak peak for My Creative Time's new releases, for this month. Yay!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

My Heart Belongs to You...

Happy Wednesday!

How was your Christmas? I took the last four days off from anything other then spending time with love ones. I the last several months we have lost several family members or close family friends. I decided , a couple weeks ago, that I needed to slow down and take time to enjoy my family and friends, especially during this time.  It was a nice break. Hopefully, your holiday was wonderful too and if you didn't celebrate, I hope you still had a restful weekend.

Today's card is my 1st Valentine's card for 2013.
I just love this svg and I thought it would be cute to use it for a Valentine's Day card.
The base of the card was cut at 4.65"w x 9". It is a shape from the Cricut Everyday cart, I welded two of them together. The circles measure 3.7"and 3.5". The bear was cut at 3" tall. The blue flag measures 5/8" x 2.25".

Stocking Kitty and a freebie!

Happy  Monday & Happy Christmas Eve!

Operation "finish making or buy all my Christmas presents" (see Friday's post here, if your confused by the prior sentence), is moving along smoothly! I think I am right on track to meet my goal. Yay me!

Anywhoo... enough about me... let's get to today's project and the freebie, shall we? First off my fabulous guest designer is my friend, Heather. She has created the cutest card with today's freebie!
My bestie, the vinyl ornament guru, also took the file and made the sweetest Christmas ornament. I LOVE how it turned out! You can find more info here.
I made a shaped card.
I sized my kitty at 4" and then created a shadow layer around her. Then I welded two the shadow layers together and created the base of the card.
I think this little tag die was the best die Emma ever made. I use it all the time.
Paper: PaperTrey Ink, Recollections, and Core'dinations

Trendy Twine Guest Designer!

Happy Friday!

My friend Lesley over at Trendy Twine asked if I would be a guest designer on her blog and of course I said yes. :) I love all of her twine! She has some great color combinations. I used one of my favorites on today's project.

I made a shaped card with a treat!
I found this cute penguin svg on the Lettering Delights site. I thought he was the perfect shape for a "sweet treat cup" card.  I also thought that the Valentine Cherry Cupcake Trendy Twine would be perfect for his scarf.   I took the scarf piece, that I cut out, and wrapped it with the twine.
In the video below, I show you how I designed and put him together.
Papers: PaperTrey Ink and Core'dinations
Penguin SVG: Lettering Delights, Stashing Through the Snow

Here's a video tutorial showing how I made him.

Grateful for You

Happy Thursday!

Six more days until Christmas! Are you ready? I'm still working on it, I have a few more things to do and then I will be finished.

I have a Christmas easel card for you today.
I fell in love with this svg file when I saw it. My adopted mom use to collect owls, when I was growing up. The last 10 years or so, she has grown to love penguins, so this svg file could not have been more perfect for her.
He's so cute that, I kind of want to keep it for myself  so I can keep it on my desk and stare at it everyday. I won't, but I want too. :)
Papers: PaperTrey Ink, Echo Park & Core'dinations

Penguin SVG: Designs on Cloud 9, Cool Winter Caps
Label SVG: Cricut, Wild Card II Cartridge

Homemade Vanilla Exract

Happy Wednesday!

Have you ever tried making your own vanilla extract? It's really simple and inexpensive to make and is the most wonderful gift to receive!

Here is a great article, that I found, with all the specific's and "how too's". I decided that since my blog is about "crafts", it was best if I stick with paper craft tutorials and leave the vanilla making tutorials to a "food blog" pro. :)

But... I am going to share what the finished bottles look like.
I have never made Vanilla Extract before, so I am hoping it turns out!  I will definitely be making it again next year too, even if I have to try a different recipe. (Keep you fingers crossed that I don't have too) I am thinking that they would make great adult stocking stuffers too!
I know that I design for her, so I am partial, but Emma @ My Creative Time has the most amazing products! They helped me make my plain brown glass bottles into fancy custom labeled vanilla bottles, in no time!
Paper: Core'dinations & My Minds Eye
Tag Die: My Creative Time, Teeny Tag Dies
Label Die: My Creative Time, Vinatge Stitched Label
Round Stamps: My Creative Time, All Around Goodies
Letter Stamps: My Creative Time, Just Simply Live
Black & White Twine: Trendy Twine

Do you have a vanilla extract recipe that you make? I would love for you to share it!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Rudolph the "bright" nosed reindeer!

Happy Tuesday!

I saw this ornament a couple weeks ago on Brigit's blog.  I thought he was so cute and I knew that my nephew would love him, so I had to try making one too.
Crazy talented Brigit has all the instructions on her blog. I followed them, with exception for the tongue, instead of a circle. I just turned the nose piece upside down and used that for the tongue.
Here he is with his nose turned on.
 So fun right?!?
Paper: Core'dinations
Reindeer SVG: SVG Cuts.com, Christmas Cuddly Friends
Embossing Folder: CuttleBug, Swiss dots
Christmas Twine: Etsy
LED Tea Light: Floral Supply
I sized him in Make-the-Cut and cut him out with my Silhouette.

I hope you have a wonderful day!
