My Favorite Stamp of the Month Thursday!

Happy Thursday!

 So a the beginning of the year, Emma started what she calls "My Favorite Stamps of the Month" Thursday. Once a month one or two of her older stamp sets are featured. What so fun about this? Well, you get to play along with us! If you own one of these sets and have made a project with it, we want to see it!

So... I made a magnetic photo holder.

Normally, I add ribbon at the top, so that it can be hung on the wall. This time I thought it would be fun to put magnets on the back, so that it can be attached to the refrigerator. Hopefully, it will make that special photo on the fridge "pop".

It is made with a 5 x 7 metal roofing tin. They can be purchased at Home Depot in the roofing/sheet metal section. They come in packs of 24 for $12. 

The Snow White cut is a new file from Lettering Delights called, Happily Ever After.

She was cut at 3 3/4" tall. Snow's face was from Peachy Keen Stamps, PK-640 Princess Face Assortment. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's, Have Fun in the Sun stamp set.

The magnet was made with 4 circles, one 3/4" red circle, one 1/2" black circle, and two 1/4" back circles. I placed the black circles so that they formed Mickey's head.  Then I attached the red circle to a round 3/4" magnet, these can be purchased at Joann's, and then applied a thick layer of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. I just have to say, I think the magnet is my favorite part of the whole thing! I just love how it turned out! 

The magnets on the back are just peel and stick 1/2" wide magnet that was also purchased at Joann's.

The papers are from DoodleBug Designs and Core'dinations.

Emma has released 4 fabulous new stamps sets!

She asked me to create a project using the set called "Happy Homecoming".

 This is the perfect set for anyone who has a family member or knows someone, who's in the military.

I made a altered frame for my project.

The papers are K and Co, DCWV, and Papertrey Ink.

The sweet little sailor is an svg file from My Scrap Chick. Isn't he the cutest!?!

The sentiment is three of the stamps from the set. I put them together to create just what I wanted.

So... Emma is giving away four sets of stamps! All you have to do to be entered, is comment each of the design team members blogs! That's it! The four people chosen will each get to choose a stamp set of their choice. Make sure you comment by Saturday night, Emma will announce the winners on Sunday.

Howdy Partner Altered Frame

Happy Thursday!

This is a altered frame that I made for my brother and sister-in-law after their baby was born.

I purchased the wood Frame at Michael's for $2. I used paper from the DCWV Citrus stack to alter it and solid Bazzil card stock to cut out the rocking horse. He was cut from the B is for Boy Cricut Lite cart and he is cut at 4". I added a little doodling to his mane, tail and rocker for effect. The twine is from Michael's, I wrapped it twice and then tied a knot. The sentiment was from the Lots of Pun stamp set. I stamped it on white card stock and backed that with a small piece of matching red paper, also from the Citrus stack.

Altered Frames

I have been making these frames for several years now. They are a quick and easy gift that can be easily tailored to the recipients taste.

Below are a few that I made for Valentine's gifts.

I purchased the wood frames at Michael's for $1 and all of the papers and embellishments are from the K and Company, Ka-Zoo line.

Altered Frames

I love making altered frames for gifts. They are relatively inexpensive to do and you can customize it to the person receiving it . You can find the wood frames in your craft store, wood section. I think they normally run for $4 each, well the style I purchase does. I usually stock up on them when they go on sale for $2.  I usually pull the paper, to decorate the frame with, from my stash unless it is a special occasion and then I might run to my local scrapbook store and get what I need. Then I decoupage the paper to the frame, sand all the edges, and ink the edges. Lastly, I embellish the front of the frame with ribbon, flowers, bling, or what every you want. The possibilities are endless!

Here are a few that I have made.

 

 

This frame was the first frame I made four years ago. It is a more expensive frame, I have since found the a more affordable frame.

The paper and embellishments on this frame are the K and Company, Ka-Zoo line. 

The frame above was covered with the K and Company, Girl Scout Specialty Pack. The flowers are stcikers that I backed with colored felt from the same collection.
