Gift Box Tutorial

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend? I spent most of mine cleaning. I am way behind on my "spring" and regular cleaning. I wasn't able to get everything done that I had planned but, I am happy with the outcome. Plus, there is always next weekend right?

Last week, I posted this card set that I made to give as a gift. I received several emails from followers asking if I would make a tutorial showing how to make boxes.
You can see the original post, about the cards and box, here.

I decided to make a video tutorial, sometimes those are easier then trying to type out the steps. It's fairly simple and yes, it involves a bit of math. :)

Part One

Part Two

This week is going to be a busy one! A new Tacky Tuesday Challenge and a new Peachy Keen challenge, both start tomorrow. Also, Emma at My Creative Time is releasing 4 new sets of stamps this Friday and the design team will be having a new release blog hop to showcase all the stamps! It's going to be a great week!

Thank so much for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow!

The Queen's Royal Court Blog Hop - Cosmo Cricket - Day 4

Happy Thursday!

If you are looking for the Throwback Thursday Challenge, click here.

Today is day four of The Queen's Royal Court Blog Hop, showcasing Cosmo Cricket papers and accessories. You can find more info about Cosmo Cricket's fabulous products by clicking here. You can also find their fan page on Facebook by clicking here.

If you have arrived here from Rosy's blog then you are on the right track, if you would like to start from the beginning click here.

Today's project is a small boxed gift set of  masculine "Thank You" cards.

I used Cosmo's "Hello Sunshine" collection. It's an older collection but I still love it.
I created the box svg file in Make-the-Cut. I added a window to the front of the box,  so that you could see the top card. I tied the box closed with some black and white twine.

I created two of each design, for a total of four cards. I also made four envelopes, with the help of my Martha Stewart Score Board, which just happens to be the best $11 I ever spent!

The sentiment is from Emma's, So Grateful for You, stamp set. You can purchase it here.

Don't forget that today is the start of a new Throwback Thursday challenge on Emma's blog. Click here to check out the project that I made.

Tomorrow will be the final day of the Cosmo Cricket blog hop. If you haven't left a comment on The Queen's blog, you should. She is giving away a grand prize that Cosmo Cricket hjas generously donated.

Also, tomorrow is the start of a all new Let's Face it Friday Challenge on the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog! This new challenge is going to be lots of fun, I can't wait to show you what I made.

Thanks so much for stoping by today!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Winter Release Blog Hop Reminder and a Pumpkin Card

Happy Friday!

WooHoo! Today is the day of the Peachy Keen Winter Release Blog Hop! All the fun will start tonight at 7pm central standard time. Make sure you stop back by tonight, PKS will be unveiling all the new Winter releases (15 new sets!). The amazing design team members have each created projects to inspire you, and we will all have Peachy Keen goodness to giveaway!  You won't want to miss it!
Hope to see you there!

I made this card a couple weeks ago and wasn't sure if I wanted to share it or not. It all kind of went wrong when I broke out the black marker...
I'm just not very good at the "doodling" thing. Don't get me wrong, I think it's super cute... well, when other people do it. I just usually end up regretting that I ever, pulled out the pen. :(
The papers are from DCWV and the My Minds Eye Halloween paper stack.
The pumpkins were cut from the "Pooh and Friends" Cricut cart, they were cut at 4".
The sentiment stamp is from here.

Don't forget about the hop tonight!

Also.... tomorrow, Saturday, I am in the So Many Mini Albums Blog Hop! Please stop back by and "hop" with us! I will have another giveaway! :)

I hope you have a wonderful day! See you tomorrow!

Thanks a Melon!

Happy Tuesday!

I made these "Thanks a Melon!" card sets, with a matching boxes,  to have on hand for a quick and simple gift. I think they turned out so cute!
I used kraft card stock for the cards and the box.  The box measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/4 x 3/4". The belly band was cut at 3/4" x 9".  I used DCWV solid card stock for the watermelon, it was cut from the Block Party cart at 1". I also used Glossy Accents on the seeds to make them shine, just like the real thing. :)
Each box contains four cards and envelopes. The cards measure 3" x 3". I cut the watermelon slice at 2" and added glossy accents on the seeds, just like on the belly band. The black and white twine was purchased from here. The sentiment stamp is from here.
Looks good enough to eat! :)
I listed a couple in my  Esty Shop!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Scrap'n!
Ruthie :)
