Smile... it's almost spring!

Happy Monday!

What a beautiful weekend it has been here in southern California! With all the rain that we have been having the last couple of weeks, the wild flowers are starting to spring up everywhere. I love this time of year... the grass along the freeway's is always so colorful. I am also starting to see lots of love bugs, a.k.a lady bugs, on the flowers and plants in the yard.

Today's card was inspired by all the flowers and love bugs that are popping up everywhere.
The flowers shape is from Just Because Cards and the love bug is from the Paisley. I welded two of the flower shapes together to form the base of the card. The total size of the card is 8.89 x 4.29, the yellow circle was cut at 1.98 x 1.98, and the love bug measures 1.43 x 1.75.

The papers are Doodle Bug Design and Coredinations.

The sentiment is from here.

Tomorrow is the start of a new Tacky Tuesday challenge! I can't wait to show you the projects we made... we even have three guest designers this time.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

A new week and a new banner!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! It was so nice having yesterday off, I was able to spend the day with the Queen. :) We went to lunch and then spent the afternoon working on projects.

I was able to get a project finished that I have been working on for a friend. Her birthday was Saturday and I had wanted to post it on Saturday but, I ran out of time and was unable to get it finished/posted.

Have you been to Joy's Website? If not you need to check it out! She makes lots of cool crafty projects.
Joy has a thing for strawberries. I based the design of the banner on the birthday card that I made her.
I used Kraft card stock from Michael's for the tags. They measure 5" and were cut from the
Gypsy Wanderings.
The strawberry was cut at 2.75" from the Paisley cart.
The letters are from the Simply Sweet cart, they were cut at 2.75".

Here is a quick view of the card I made her.
Happy Birthday Joy!
I hope that you had a wonderful day!
(Your banner and card are in the mail.)

I will be choosing a winner tonight for the B'day Party Blog Hop. If you haven't left a comment yet, you still have time! Click here.

See you back here tomorrow! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you had a great weekend. I spent most of my weekend doing yard work in my front and back yards. It was a TON of work but both yards look so much better. I should have taken before and after photos, but I was to embarrassed to let anyone see how bad I had let them get.  It feels really good to have both yards back in shape. Next weekend will be the side yard/carport area's turn.

I was able to spend a little time last night working on projects for tomorrow night's Ustream. Have you heard about the Ustream that Alex and I are hosting tomorrow night? We have some really fun things planned and some really cool prizes to giveaway! It's going to be so much fun, I can't wait! I hope that you will be able to join us. :)

I will admit that I am a little sad that this will be my last Valentine's Day card until next year. I have had a lot of fun the last couple weeks making Valentine's cards.
This one came, together fairly quickly. I just mimicked the love bird paper. Every once in awhile it's fun to take a design from your favorite paper and mimic it. I think that this love bird paper is one of my favorites this year.
The paper is Doodlebug Designs and Coredniations. The ribbon was purchased at Michael's.
The birds were cut from the Songbird cart and the heart is from Create a Critter.

Tomorrow there will be a new Tacky Tuesday challenge! I can't wait to show you the design team's cards, they are so cute! There is also have a special guest designer this week.  This weeks challenge prize is a set of PK-451 Wide Eyed Kids 1 1/8" stamps. I hope that you play along with us!

Also... don't forget that tomorrow night is the...

Popcorn, PJ's, and Projects Ustream!

We are going to have soooo much fun! I hope you will join us!

Hoo's having a Birthday?

Thank God it's Friday! What a crazy week this has been!

I made this card for my surrogate/adopted mom. When I was a little girl I spent a lot of time at her house.  It was the late 70's, early 80's and owl's were all the rage.  She collected the   owls, they were all on a huge wall unit in her living room.

Her Birthday was last week and I wanted to make her a card.
A friend of mine let me borrow her Cindy Lou cart and the owl cut on the cart,
reminded me of my most favorite of all her owls.
The card measures  4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The owl was cut at 4". The papers are from the DCWV Linen Closet designer and solid card stock stacks. The ribbon was purchased at the floral supply warehouse and the stamp is from here. The boarder punch was purchased at Michael's, it is a Martha Stewart punch.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I am planning on some serious scrappy time with my bestie!

Happy Scrap'n!

Bee Mine...

Yeah... I know it is not anywhere close to Valentine's day but I got the Paisley cart a few weeks ago and I just had to cut this sweet little bee. Which meant that he needed a home, so I just had to make a card. :)

The card measures 3" x 3". I used the DCWV Citrus Stack, the Glitter Stack, and coordinating Bazzil card stock for the bee. I cut the bee, from the Paisley cart, at 2 1/4". I replaced the flower with a 1/2 heart that I cut from the same cart. The "Bee Mine" stamp is from the Lots of Pun stamp set.

The paper on the inside of the card measures, 2 3/4" square, 2 1/2" square, and 2 1/4" square. The flower is the one that cuts out with the bee. I placed it inside, since I cut a heart for the bee instead.

I hope you have a wonderful day!
Happy Scrap'n!
