I'm a Sucker for You!

Happy Friday!

Whew! It has been a long week! I am so glad that it is Friday!
I have another fun Jaded Blossom sneak peek for you. I whipped this card up the other night while I was Skype crafting with a few friends.
The suckers are from a new svg file from Lettering Delights, it's called Sweet Tooth. The card base is a basic shape that I found in the Make-the-Cut  library. I then created a shadow around it, duplicated it, and welded them together, to form the base of the card. If you would like to see how that is done, click here to see a video tutorial.
The papers are from PaperTrey Ink, My Minds Eye Twisted Lime Collection, and Bazzill.
The sentiment is a sneak of one of the new Jaded Blossom stamps sets. There will be 7 new stamp sets released tonight. All the fun is going to start at 5:00pm (PST), right here.
The sucker's sweet little faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps, PK-293 The Cornies Assortment.

Don't forget to stop back by tonight for Jaded Blossom's new release blog hop! All the fun starts  right here at 5:00pm (pst).

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a nice weekend! I spent most of Saturday, on the sofa, watching movies. Sometimes you just need a day off, know what I mean? Anyway, I was able to get a little crafty time in yesterday and I worked on my projects for My Creative Time's up and coming, January releases. I love this new release and am so excited about it, I though it would be fun to share a "pre" sneak peak!

El dia de Reyes Blog Hop!

Good Morning!
Welcome to the El dia de Reyes blog hop! If you have arrived from
Melin's blog then you are on the right track, if you would like to start at the beginning, click here.

If you don't have a clue what "El dia de Reyes" is, here is a quick run down.

Dia de Reyes, Three Kings Day or Epiphany is observed in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries on January 6th and celebrates the arrival in Bethlehem of the Three Kings who followed the star for twelve days to Bethlehem bearing gold, frankincense, and myrrh to honor the baby Jesus. This is the day that the Three Kings revealed Jesus to the world as King.

Several days before January 6th, children write letters to the Three Kings or Rey Magos, Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar. They ask for the gifts that they would like to receive. Children then attach their letters to colorful balloons. The balloons are released into the sky, carrying all of the children’s wishes. It is a magical sight.

The night before El dia de los Reyes, figurines of the Three Kings are added to nativity scenes. Before bedtime children place shoes under their beds so that the Three Kings will leave gifts for them. Grass or hay and a bucket of water are left outside for the Three Kings camels’. Children also leave cookies and milk for Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar.

On the morning of Dia de los Reyes Magos gifts from the Three Kings are opened and enjoyed. This is a day to spend with family and friends. Preparations are made for the Merienda de Reyes, a dinner with friends and families that celebrates Epiphany. The Merienda de Reyes began with the Spaniards who brought the tradition of celebrating Dia de los Reyes Magos and sharing the Rosca to Mexico. People go to the markets and stores to purchase the needed ingredients to prepare the feast. Bakeries make the Rosca de Reyes or Kings’ Cake, a sweetbread, decorated with candied fruit The Rosca, cut by each person,
symbolizing the danger Jesus was in, is served with tamales and hot chocolate. Inside the Rosca is a figurine of the Baby Jesus. The figurine is hidden because of the need to find a secure place where Jesus could be born in safety. Whoever finds the baby figurine must host Candelaria, a candlelight mass day on February 2nd.

Unfortunately, I had a family emergency at the last minute and I was not able to complete my project. I will try and get it posted as soon as I can.

I do however still have some blog candy to give away!

I am giving away a set of Peachy Keen Stamps!
One lucky person will receive the Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment!

All you have to do to be entered to win is:
1. Become a follower of my blog, if not already.
2. Leave a comment on this post.

That's it! I will choose a winner via Random.org on Monday night and announce the winner Tuesday morning. Good Luck!

Today is the start of an all new Throwback Thursday Challenge. This weeks challenge is a  "Sports Challenge" using any SPORTS CARTRIDGE OR if you don't own a Sports cartridge, then use any cartridge & make it into make a "Sports" like project, card, OR layout!

I made a metal/magnet picture holder.
You can see the one I made last week, here.
It is made with a 5 x 7 metal roofing tin. They can be purchased at Home Depot in the roofing/sheet metal section.
I used My Creative Time's XL Label die, the Boarder stamp is from XL Label Boarders, and the sentiment is from the Sports Sentiments set.
The papers are from DCWV's All About Boy's paper stack. I got it at Michael's and it is the cutest stack!

I borrowed this fun idea from my super talented friend and My Creative Time dt sister, Liz, from Liz's Paper Loft. Our amazing dt sister Katie, from Crafting with Katie has made a few too.

Flutterby

Happy New Year!

I know... I am a day late, well really two, but who's keeping track?  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah and New Year. I decided at the last minute to take a couple weeks off from blogging. I just had so much to do and I needed a break from paper and the computer.

I love today's card.
As soon as I saw this file, I fell in love with it. She is from My Scrap Chick, the file name is Flutterby. It reminds me of being a little girl and catching/playing with bugs.
The papers are from PaperTrey Ink, Coredinations, Bazzil, and We R Memory Keepers (Love Struck line). I used my white gel pen for the stitching and lots of inking.

Don't you just love the piecing on her hair and the pockets & belt details on her jeans? I love the fact that she is barefoot too... I am a native So. Cal girl and although I do love a great pair of shoes, I love being barefoot just as much.
 Love those little butterflies.

I can't wait to show you what I made for tomorrow's post!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
