Happy Saturday!
Welcome to the "It's My Party" Blog Hop!
If you have arrived here from the amazing Nicole's blog then you are on the right track. If you would like to start at the beginning click here to go to Alex's blog.
So... if you haven't already guessed, this hop is about fun and easy party ideas. I decided that I would plan a child's party. I thought it would be fun to go with a "vintage circus" theme. I also decided that I was going to use what I already had on hand. If I didn't have something... I would just have to get creative. :)
Like I said above, I wanted a vintage circus feel... really I just took some inspiration from my circus theme. I decided on bright primary colors. I purchased the new DCWV Celebrations stack a couple weeks ago and I knew the papers would be perfect.
I found these plates in my kitchen and some red polka dot ribbon in my stash. I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes on the rim of the plate and turned the paper plate and ribbon into this.
The napkin ring was made with a piece of paper 1 1/2" wide by 6" long. I added some ribbon, a 3" scalloped circle, and a 2 1/2" number five. (That's how old my make-believe child is.)
Here is a better view of the napkin ring.
I also made a banner... because every celebration needs a banner right!?!
The tags were cut from the Birthday Bash Cricut cart at 3". The letters were cut at 1 1/2".
I used red and white twine, that I purchased from Paper and Parcel to string the banner together.
I also decided to make some cupcake wrappers/holders. It was a cut file that I purchased from Lettering Delights a month or so ago. I think they turned out super cute! They would be even cuter with cupcakes in them.... but remember I was using what I had on hand and unfortunately, I didn't have any cupcakes. I did have some Hersey's kisses... so I added those. :)
If this was a real party... I would totally make one of these and put it on that cake plate!
Doesn't it look amazing! You can see how to make one at Cookies and Cups!
Back to the party...
I also made some scalloped cupcake toppers. Again, the scallop circles were cut at 3" and the number "5" was cut at 1 1/2".
Here is a close-up of the toppers.
(Sorry, the lighting is funny on this one.)
So here is everything together.
I know it's not Chuck E Cheese's... but I think it's fun. :)
BTW... I went to Farrell's for my 5th Birthday. Farrell's was the "cool" place to go for birthday's, when I was little. It's an old time ice cream parlor.
This is a photo of me and my two friends Maryann and Debbie, after the party and yes... we are still friends. :) I'm the one in the middle, aren't we cute?
Here is a list of all the bloggers in the hop.
